Meet the founder

Hey, I’m Makena.

My dream began over 10 years ago when I discovered graphic design for the first time. From that first moment, I was hooked. The creative process, the ability to communicate through visuals, everything about it felt like the perfect fit.

Alongside my love for design, I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, starting a few of my own businesses growing up. This blend of creativity and business knowledge led me to where I am today: crafting custom brands and websites that help other founders turn their dream into reality.

Every project I take on is more than just design, it’s a chance to help someone else achieve their dreams, just as I’ve been blessed enough to do.

FAQ’s

  • No. We believe that building a strong and recognizable brand requires more than “just a logo”. Our Brand Identity & Strategy package includes a full logo suite, in addition to a color palette, font selection, and brand application examples. Every detail is outlined in a brand guidelines document so you and your team can keep all your visuals consistent.

  • While my core projects are for brand, web, and packaging, I do offer ongoing design support that can apply to a variety of projects.

  • We currently build all our clients’ websites on Squarespace. There are two key reasons why:

    1. Once the site is handed off to our client, the platform is simple enough for clients’ to upkeep themselves, if they aren’t ready to invest in ongoing website support.

    2. At the same time, it also allows us to create custom layouts and designs that support business growth and sales.

  • Yes, for every project we split the full investment into 2 equal parts. 50% will be paid at the start of your project, and the remaining 50% will be paid once the project has wrapped, before the final project is handed off.

  • Each project is different depending on what the client needs to best support and grow their business. Most projects span from 4-12 weeks.

  • We are a US based design studio. While my home is in Virginia, I love working with founders in all 50 states.
